Another gaming giant on the brink of bankruptcy!

Take-Two Interactive continues to make strategy changes in its game studios. The company, which closed two studios a while ago, now has some plans for Private Division. Private Division, which undertakes game development and publishing, will either be sold or shut down.

According to allegations emerging in the US, Take-Two told Private Division employees at the end of April that it would no longer support the company. Almost all of Private Division’s staff were reportedly laid off at that time.

For those who don’t know, Private Division was founded in 2017 to publish Take-Two’s games from indie developers. Some of the published games included Outer Wilds and Disco Elysium. However, the studio’s revenues don’t seem to be meeting expectations.

With its closure, Private Division may also lead to the cancellation of games in its range. These include Layers of Fear, Bloober Team’s new game and an unannounced game from One More Level.

Only Tales of the Shire and a small team from Game Freak remain within the company. However, Take-Two is in talks to sell a scaled-down version of Private Division to a different company. This is good news for independent productions.

On the other hand, Take-Two recently shut down Kerbal Space Program 2 developer Intercept Games. It was stated that the company, which negotiated with Paradox Interactive for the game rights, received negative results from these negotiations. This means that Kerbal Space Program is completely canceled.
